I would call my vet and explain what's happening. They may or may not want you to bring your baby in for a visit. Good luck!!

None of our birds like to lay on their back. Pico is starting to get used to it, I think, but doesn't like to.

I actually would highly recommend clipping Lily's wings. They will grow back, and it will give your son time to start over without worrying too much about getting chased. Lily might learn the word "no", but not in the way you want! She might learn to bite and then yell "No!" It will take time for your son and Lily to learn to trust each other, and even if trust is established I would be hesitant to leave them alone together. I wish you the best of luck!

Going to Antarctica must have been amazing. You can start a new thread if you want, but will you talk about your experiences there?

Wow, those are very cool, biteybird!
I actually like the 1915 one much better. It is more unique, and you can tell that a lot of work went into making it. The 2001 one looks machine made. Thank you so much for sharing! Beautiful pieces!

Wow....what a tragic story. I'm so, so, so sorry for your loss. (((HUGS)))
This reminds me a little of how I felt after our first budgie, Arnie, died. I knew that it would take a good long time before we would be ready to have another budgie, but just a couple weeks later I saw an ad on Craigslist. The owner said that if somebody didn't come get the bird they would feed it to their snake. Of course, I couldn't let that happen so Sammy came "home". I fed him, and cleaned his cage...but I didn't talk to him much, and didn't develop a connection with him. It was actually a relief when I found him dead a couple months after I brought him home.
I imagine that you would feel differently about Cricket if you found him dead...but I know what it feels like to be indifferent toward a pet.
In time, forgiveness will come. Give yourself time to grieve. It's okay to be angry, what happened was awful!
Again, I'm so sorry.

Pico is great, still sleeping a lot during the day, but he's awake a lot of nights. I went out to the kitchen at about 1am last night, and he was singing away. We can't wait for Chewy's latest bout of hormones to end!

Chewy must have read some of Jade's posts about how to bully a little brother. I had Taz and Chewy out yesterday afternoon, and brought Taz into the office with me. Zach was in the living room, so he could keep an eye on Chewy. All of a sudden I heard Zach yelling at Chewy, so I ran into the living room and Zach said "Pico was sleeping on his ladder, and Chewy went over to the top of his cage and started shaking it, and made poor Pico fall off!" Naughty bird!!!!!!! While Zach was stuffing Chewy into his cage, I got Pico out to make sure he was okay. He seemed fine. Poor little guy!!

Tax HATES getting covered. He crouches and hisses. If he's really angry he does his "battle cry". LOL
