Taz LOVES looking at himself. He could look at in the mirror all day if we allowed it, singing and talking away. Pico and Chewy are indifferent.

What I have labeled as Oregon Sunstone could be a different variety of Feldspar, I'm not certain.

Thank you Jan. He's been spending a lot more time under the bed than is normal for him. He's peeing fine...more than fine, actually...he made me stop a bad habit of leaving my dirty clothes on the floor in the bedroom, because he used them in addition to his litter box...my clothes are now on the floor in the bathroom, so he goes in there to pee on them. Grr...no blood in it, though.

My cat...

Okay, everyone... I'm freaking out just a bit... Okay, a lot. My cat...my Diablo...has started licking and smacking his lips...I Googled it last night, and read that it can be a sign of renal failure. He has a vet appointment on Tuesday at 1:45. This cat is like my baby. Even more than the birds....I don't know what I would do if either Diablo or Bilbo had to be put down. This cat...my baby. I worked at an animal shelter for a short time in 2007. Just before I started, they had a horrible distemper outbreak, and all but one of the kittens were euthanized. That kitten was Diablo. Of course, being a shelter, the kitten room was full when I was hired. I have mild Cerebral Palsy, and the job was extremely difficult for my body. I was kindly let go after a month, because my supervisor was afraid for me. She would often look in the room I was cleaning and see me sitting in a corner with a cat on my lap, breathing hard from sheer exhaustion. I was cleaning the kitten room one morning, and my routine was to let all of the kittens run around on the floor, while I cleaned the cages. I had noticed that this one, a cute little Siamese, would always hide under the cages, he or she was terrified. So that particular day I decided to put him on top of the cages, not on the floor. He was like a different cat, so happy. At one point I needed a break, but didn't have time to sit down. So I leaned against the cages, laid my head on my arms and closed my eyes. A few minutes later something hit me on the head. The kitten had just head-butted me really hard, and when I opened my eyes he was staring at me with his beautiful blue eyes, purring like a jet engine. Of course I knew that he had just chosen me, and that afternoon I brought Zach to meet him. And he came home with us after he was neutered. He is the best cat I've ever had. Whenever I come to bed he wants to be snuggled in my arms, but he sleeps on my pillow, wrapped around my head. When I come in the bedroom, he demands to be picked up (if I don't, I run the risk of having to catch him when he leaps off the bed). When I'm looking for a movie to watch, and am standing between the bed and DVD shelves, I often end up with Diablo on my back. I'll feel his paw on my lower back, and if I don't lean forward, he climbs me. When I do lean forward, he comes up and rubs the back of my head (kitty kisses), or I turn my head and he kisses my face. Sometimes I lean on the bed and he climbs on my back, and I give him "pony rides". He's only 8, and we feed him the best food and treats....there can't be anything seriously wrong with him...there just can't be.

Okay, how does the banner look on everyone's monitors? Does the image repeat (side by side) at all?

Hi there! What you said about Charlie is so interesting...our Quaker, Chewy, is the exact same way. He loves my husband, but will only repeat things that I say and I can't touch him. "He's the sweetest jerk on the planet." Yes, I think that's a good description for the general Quaker population! LOL Welcome (back) to the forum!
