OMG!!! There is such a thing as Divine Intervention. Our liason, who is there in the trenches, just told us that Lena would have been trampled if she had gone on the truck today, so she has until tomorrow at 5pm. If ANYONE knows of someone in TX (or nearby) who wants an adorable mule pony, her bail is $300.

This is something that I said I wouldn't do here. I said I wouldn't talk about the equine rescue work I do...not in detail, anyway.
Auction Horses, the group I volunteer with, is a huge network for equines that are at risk of going to slaughter. We're "based" near Seattle, WA and our membership extends all across the U.S., Canada, and even into Europe.
We were recently given the opportunity to network for equines located at a processing facility in Texas, right at the U.S./Mexico border. These horses, donkeys, mules, and hinnys are literally one truck away from crossing the border and going to their (extremely inhumane) deaths.
Something about this particular pony mule struck me. It is too late for her, she was loaded on her final truck at 2pm (Texas time) today. I just wanted to share her picture and information here.

I just thought I would share my AMAZING news....I've been migraine-free for almost a month!! Yippeeee!!!!!
I started seeing a new doctor on March 3rd, and had a second appointment on the 12th. That day was a life-changer....
I was asking for my prescriptions to be refilled, and asked her for more Tramadol. She asked why, and I told her that I was taking that instead of the Naproxen, for my aches and pains, because Naproxen (and other NSAIDS) are really hard on your stomach. I had asked my previous doctor if this was okay, and she said yes. My new doctor was horrified, and said that Tramadol really should be classified as a narcotic and it is habit-forming, in addition to interacting with one of my migraine medicines.
As soon as I heard that I got pretty upset, and said "No, don't refill it!" I stopped taking it, cold-turkey, that day. I continued having headaches for a week afterward, but after that I haven't had one.
I'm SO happy!!!!

What part of the country do you live in, Aaron? Here in western Washington, we generally don't worry too much about WNV (we also have to watch out for our horses) because there haven't been many cases in the area. If we start seeing dead crows, that's when we start to think about vaccinating the horses.

No, it hasn't been much fun, Aaron! But we'll get through this. Today Pico, Taz and Chewy saw the vet today. Unfortunately Zach and I weren't able to talk to her, because she was busy with an emergency, so they took the birds in back and gave them their Ivermectin. We'll go back for another dose in two weeks.

Thank you, everyone! I'm completely stumped, and will let you know what happens on Tuesday and afterward....maybe the mites are causing his symptoms...that would be great, because it can be fixed.

Yes, that's one of the odd things about this...he's eating and drinking fine, and his poop looks normal.

His crash landing happened on February 11th, and I clipped him that night.
