My photos of the white, crystal and jelly opals didn't turn out at all. Sorry!

I pried him off of his grate, and we've been snuggling on the couch. I've been singing to him, and he seems content. He's peeping a little bit, and grinding his beak.
I told him that if he's tired of fighting, to just let me know. I'm feeling very sad right now.

Dang it....poor little Pico doesn't want to come out of his cage now. He screeches whenever I try to pick him up, and clings to the cage grate. I think we'll be saying goodbye pretty soon.

Thank you! I have a whole bunch of lower quality white opals, as well, but they're not as pretty.

Her assistant took Pico in back so they could take some blood. Dr. Ferguson came right out and said "I don't see any improvement."
I said that yes, he has improved a little bit. He's more vocal, and I think he can see, at least somewhat better.
She said "Good! We'll take it!"

I'm sorry that your baby is sick. Perhaps you can work out a payment plan with your vet? Or try Care Credit (www.care credit.com).
I know that I am pretty cautious about donating to people who I don't know.
Good luck!

Just because I adore gemstones, and my whole body lit up when I saw the thread title....here is what Coober Pedy is known for. Gorgeous! I have a rough opal, but am not sure if it's from Coober Pedy or Lightning Ridge. I don't have a picture of it at the moment. Coober Pedy Opals:

No news. She took a bit of blood and we'll have the results in a couple of days.

Hi and welcome! I'll be sending you some private messages (or maybe I'll post for everyone to see), picking your brain for ideas for caring for a blind parrot. Please check out the "General Pet Bird Discussion" section. My baby Pico has limited vision, and is going to his second appointment with his specialist on Wednesday. We're happy you found us!
