I am glad to hear that he seems to be doing well in general. That's so great.

The saga continues. Peppy had an ultrasound, and the mass does not seem to be shrinking further. In a bit of good news, the fluid is gone from his belly. Next step is blood work to recheck his liver function, and a barium X-ray. The latter will help determine what options are available. That is, if the mass originates in his liver, for example, surgery will not even be an option. He does have more muscle around his keel, but can stand to gain more weight, even at 146g. His sneezing has returned with a vengeance, and he didn't seem to feel well yesterday, so I changed filters on the air purifier and set up a radiator close to him. We're in that in-between seasons time when you don't know if you need the a/c or the heat, but I certainly don't want him to be cold. His next appointment is scheduled for 12 November.

Oh, all that is mixed news that must be a bit worrying for you. I hope the purifier & radiator help him. Tell Peppy "Hang in there!" from us (Bonnie & human slaves).

I don't know what to say to you. For every step forward, there seems to be one back. You can only take each day as it comes. I know you must be exhausted but we are all here for you and Peppy. Sending hugs your way.

Thanks, biteybird and Jan. I know it's hard to respond to all these ups and downs, and your support is appreciated. And everyone else's, too, of course!

Take care.

Hmmm... I'm really sorry to hear that the mass isn't continuing to shrink. That is disappointing-- I know that isn't what you wanted to learn. Hopefully you will be presented with some tangible options. Hang in there and know we'll be rooting for you and Peppy!!

It's back to Houston this morning. Peppy was breathing hard Saturday morning, so I called and the vet said to double his anti-inflammatory. It did seem to help, but yesterday he hardly ate and didn't look well. Of course I will update you.

Peppy had a barium X-ray, and the results are a little disheartening. The granuloma is back to its previous size, again crowding everything, including his lungs. They think perhaps the lupron injection caused the initial shrinkage and it has worn off. He will get a series of them, and if that shrinks it again, he might have a hormone implant for the long term. He also might need a different anti-inflammatory, which I will have to inject, but that is for a later determination. His blood work is not in yet, so we are overnighting in Houston.
