Congratulations with your new little one. Skye is so pretty and seems to be very happy to be out of the pet store. He seems so comfy and is sleeping on the shoulder so you know Skye trusts you guys already. The cage is the perfect size... I think most folks on here have a similar size as well.
Remember though... two means that they will not be as interested in you as they will be into each other.
I am also looking forward to hearing how things go.

Exactly Dani... and a bad dream and I cannot wake up from it. Everyone tells me it will take time... and I am sure it will. This is my first year of such a great loss and it seems so many little things set me off into tears. Yesterday it was Kentucky Fried Chicken that made me cry... lol.... silly... but true. I do my very best to remember and celebrate the good things... and when I get all balled up... I play this song... and then I release... and am good until tomorrow.
Not sure if it will work. Thank you for remembering Dani.

Awwww that is so sweet. He sure did sound like a laughing duck... ha ha ha.... I love that he likes his neck rubbed... Oscar rarely lets me do that. He seems to be having a lot of fun... and that is great!!!! Thank you for sharing the video... I love it.

No luck here either. Oscar hated it from day one and still hates the sight of it. Good luck to you and I hope it works out.

I am sure this was difficult for you to share with us Dani... (as I sit here with tears in my eyes). I can only say that I know exactly how you feel as I have gone through the same. I can only send big hugs your way and let you know that you are in my prayers.
Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others, cannot help but keep it from themselves. (old saying)

awwwww Isn't she beautiful.... Is that food on her bill or does she need something to file it on? Just curious. Her feathers almost look like fur eh?

I think the name will come to you once you spend a few days together. I still love the name Julianna... but I guess I am prejudice ... ha ha ha... OK then... Julia or Jewels... all are good... lol lol.
good luck on the name. Oscar came to me with his name... I could have changed it but because he could say it already.. I figured better to leave that one with him.

I made myself a few of these and wore them often before Oscar was potty trained. They have Velcro on the front so that it is easy on and easy off. A few people had mentioned the mess that sometimes gets left on your clothes... so here is an alternative.

Congratulations Angela... I think you will find that at first you worry about every little thing and then after a while you will be more comfortable and realize what is natural for the bird and what is not. Soon he will be hanging off your shoulder ... like the king of the castle... and you will become a new slave... lol... just like the rest of us.

You know.... it is amazing how well these birds can adjust... just given the right home and circumstances. Oscar lived with another couple for two years... and yes he bonded with them... and it broke their hearts to have to give him to someone else... but he adjusted. Lots of love and attention... and he is well adjusted. He loves me more than anything... and when his previous owner comes to visit... he will go to her... but not for long. It is me who is his Mom.
If anything should happen in your relationship... and God hope it does not... your little one will adjust to the outcome. We always hope that never have to... but with the right new parents... it is Okay. Love prevails.
