The captions are what Siobhan wrote on Facebook. Cheap bird toy! Sweet baby. Poor toy. It's doomed. Cue dramatic music. Snuggling with Mama.

Rocky is a handsome 'Too, and deserves to have a home where he's appreciated, which he now has. But I expect that the budget for parrot toys will have to go way up-- Rocky seems quite capable of wiping out an entire Petco toy department single-handedly.

That's why we're going to research safe wood for him and make his toys. LOL I gave him an old phone book and we get lots of junk mail he can tear up, too.

What a beautiful friend you have found there, Siobhan... He looks really happy. That is wonderful.

Siobhan, in your position I'd be sorely tempted to quit my job and become a stay-at-home cockatoo pillow.

Ah, but if I did that, we'd have no money for food or toys for birds. Though I think Rocky would agree with you. He's going to have quite a shock starting tomorrow when Mama goes back to work. I've been off all week on vacation. I got the 'too happy dance twice already today because I was gone all morning playing in two services at church and then we went out for lunch. So I got the dance when I got home from church and again when we came back from lunch. Hubby's home most of the day, but Rocky is not as fond of Daddy.

Is that an Arnott's Savoy biscuit packet (probably not, in the US...)? If we introduced Rocky Road to Bonnie they could have wine and biscuits together! Just need some cheese and olives.

No, it's a Ritz crackers box. There were only a few left, and I offered him one, which he rejected, and then gave him the box, which he liked. LOL

Amazing, a bird rejecting a Ritz cracker... That's the kind of thing I'd expect nearly every bird to eat enthusiastically

He did deign to taste a regular saltine (I know, but I only gave him one) but he didn't care for it except that it was fun to tear it up and throw the crumbs on the floor for the slobbering beasts to eat. I don't think he knows much about people food. I give him things that even Clyde would like, and he just blinks at me. I eat things in front of him and offer a bite and he shrugs. I leave them on his cage in case he wants to think it over first and come back later to find them undisturbed. Pizza crust? No, thanks. Fried eggs? No. Fruit? No. I even resorted to sunflower seeds. No.

Wow, no sunflower seeds! That's crazy! Allie Grey doesn't like sunflower seeds, either. She also has no use for corn, which almost every other bird on the planet loves. I keep coming back to this thread to look at that picture of Rocky snuggling. What a sweetheart!
