I'm familiar with that. Hubby bought those for Easter dinner and while they weren't quite the thing for that meal, they were pretty good.

Cupcake loves that hawaiian bread also... I try not to buy it too often because, well, it means I will be eating little sandwiches all day in additional to regular meals Mr P's obsession with the hawaiian bread sounds like Cupcake with cheese... and she doesn't even get cheese any more, but she knows the wrappers and if we are unwrapping cheese in the kitchen she will immediately fly over and begin falling all over herself trying to figure out a way to get some of it. Thank goodness Rocky is in your hands now, Siobhan. He sounds like such a great bird. Deserving of the very best, which he will get with you

Ha, easttex, I'm sure we'd have lots of 'service' stories to swap...I remember once doing a parade (I'm ex-Army) and they had these lazy-looking camels as the Corps mascots. So, we had to do an Advance & Review Order and ended up standing in camel s**t and half the band threw up on the parade ground.
One of my favorite military memories involves Aussies, actually. I and a number of others were stuck in Christchurch, NZ, waiting for the weather to clear in Antarctica so we could fly down. (Poor us, stuck in NZ. ) We were, of course, out enjoying the Kiwi beer, and in one bar met a large, boisterous group of Aussies vacationing, also enjoying large quantities of Kiwi beer. We got into a competition to see who could stump the other in recalling theme songs from old American TV shows. It went on for hours. Not really a military memory, strictly speaking, but great fun!
