I think the snow has finally stopped... I'm certain the total is somewhere between 2-3 feet. This is definitely the biggest blizzard I've ever experienced, and I've lived here my whole life. We've had other ones that came close, but this one definitely tops them all. So far the power is still on. I think we're probably in the clear in that regard now.
For my job, I am able to work from home, so I do not need to take any personal leave, thankfully. My job is extremely flexible, but I don't think most people are having to take leave on days like these. There's literally no way to travel right now, and I bet for the first few days of this week, schools will still be closed. It will be interesting to see if the Federal Goverment closes or not in the coming week, as I doubt they'll have this cleaned up by Monday.
I'll post some pics when I can get a shot of the final snowfall when it's light out in the morning.

Thank goodness you and your family are okay Aaron. Weather conditions these days are really weird.

Phew, glad you're OK! I've never experienced a blizzard but I bet it would be very scary.

Thanks guys! Here's a photo of my back patio this morning... Sorry, it's through the screen door so it looks a little weird:

Yup that's lots of snow! We've had so little snow this year, a big snowfall would be fun, once the roads are cleared. Thanks for the pic!

It was quite a bit of snow! My parents, who live 40 minutes away, got even more snow. I believe our official total was 28", while theirs was 34". Lots of snow! We did some good sledding today!

That's a pretty good photo! I guess there'd be no point shoveling the snow away so you can use your patio.

Haha, yeah... I think I'll just let that patio melt at it's own pace

That looks more like Colorado than Virginia. Any ski slopes in the area?

Right? I should take up Skiing. I've never been before. By the looks of it you could start out right in your yard

That is a lot of snow for you guys for sure... but for us... that is nothing. ha ha ha... This year we have the least amount than we have had in 10 years... but that won't last for next year I am sure.

This year we have the least amount than we have had in 10 years... but that won't last for next year I am sure. We're way behind our usual snow accumulation here-- we've been sort of spoiled so far by the milder winter. But a friend who is a retired meteorologist keeps reminding everyone that winter isn't over yet.

I bet! How much snowfall do you usually get in a winter, Julianna?

Glad to hear you're ok Aaron! Wow that is a lot of snow!! I think I've actually touched snow once in my life when I was about 16, so it seems very un real to me!
