When your other Quaker was sick, did you take him/her to an avian vet? What "meds" did you give it?
I would recommend taking your Quaker to a vet, just for a general checkup.
What is the living environment like? How big is the cage, what shape is it, what kinds of toys are in it, what is the diet like?
Welcome!

Chewy (our little green chicken) is about 12 years old and Taz (our Cockatiel) is about 14. It's crazy how fast time goes!! š¦

If she's still eating well and has that "look" about her (I can't explain it but you know the one that says they're not ready to go), I would give her a chance to pull through.
Have the vet pull a blood sample and ask them to consult with an avian specialist over the phone. Offer to pay for the time, if necessary.
I think you did well with your homemade collar. Let us know how things go! šš¦

Oh, wow. I've never had a paralyzed bird, but a friend of mine who is a vet tech rehabbed a budgie that had been attacked by a cat and survived. She spent months massaging and manipulating her legs, doing birdie physical therapy and little Phoenix came to us with the ability to kind of scoot around and she could perch and fly a little bit.
I wish you the best! š

It sounds like you're going about the weaning process just fine. š
Now is the time to start introducing Pegasus to a variety of healthy foods. The babies at my breeder friend's house loved playing with (and nibbling on) Cheerios! š
Also pellets (maybe moistened with some apple juice), veggies and some fruit, bird bread (there's at least one recipe in the diet section here, I think), whole grain toast with a bit of peanut butter, plain cooked rice and pasta, things like that.
Just stay away from added salt and sugar, fat, avocado, chocolate, pits from stone fruit (cherries, peaches, apricots), apple seeds...š
Feed as much formula as he'll take, and then let him explore his different food options.
Baby Quakers are pretty clumsy, so you might want to pad the bottom of his cage, to cushion any falls. š
I think you're doing well! š

No, I don't think Taco's passing was your fault at all. At age 22 he lived a good long life with you. I can tell from everything you said that you loved each other very much, and I'm so sorry for your loss. ššš¦

I still don't trust him, but he will step up for me from his cage door (I cover my arm and hand for protection, LOL)!
I picked him up from his cage and brought him to the living room to hang out with me and Zach (he's flighted, but doesn't leave his cage on his own), then took him back....but he flew off of my arm and landed on the budgie cage, where I couldn't reach him. Zach came and got him. LOL

I'm so glad things are getting a little better in New York.
Many businesses in Washington state have been shut down, but some good news is that a few recreational activities have been re-opened. People can go fishing and hiking now, enjoy the parks and play golf. Social distancing is still very much in effect, and the majority of us wear masks when in public.
I'm very happy to hear that the situation, at least in the Northern Territory, isn't too bad. š

I honestly don't know anything about website hosting, or any of it. I just try to pay the bills before, or soon after, the expiration dates. LOL
I love the forum, so I scrambled to figure out how to keep it going after Shelly (the founder of the original Quaker forum) went MIA and the domain name expired. The only host I know about is Godaddy, so I went with that and it's working so I haven't changed anything. If it's not broke, don't fix it. LOL
I hope all is well with your family. š

I feel like Australia was hit with a double whammy - the fires and the virus.
How are things going for you all?

Yes, it doesn't cost anything to create an account and post in the forum. It just costs me money to keep it going. š
But I'm all set for this year, I think. š

Post flyers, call vet clinics and animal shelters, if there are children in the area get them involved (I recently rescued some goldfish that someone dumped in a pond, and a girl from the neighborhood helped me - I rewarded her for her help (and not rifling through my purse when I sent her to grab another net from my car) with a $5 bill. She really was a huge help. š
