He is so strong, and has such an incredible will to live. He amazes me.

Well.....I *think* Pico can see, anyway. He still doesn't move around his cage very much at all.

Don't worry Dani - might take him a little time to recover.

I'm looking forward to hearing what the vet says on Wednesday.

I look forward to an update. At the very least, it sounds like the Celebrex has helped. I had a chicken who went blind, and the vet said it was from inflammation. He said sometimes they are able to regain their eyesight, but he didn't want me to get my hopes up. She didn't, and became one of a series of indoor chickens, and a really special pet.

I would imagine with something like this, the eyesight might be initially very faint, so maybe he is just beginning to see again... or perhaps it is intermittant at first. It sounds like you had some concrete signs of him seeing you, so I think there's a good chance it will continue to improve.

I really hope so, Aaron! I think he did see his toy and Zach's hand. I hate second guessing myself.

Yeah, second guessing on this sort of thing is not fun. It can only help to stay positive though. Worst case scenario he might not be seeing but he is clearly becoming more able to make use of his other senses in creative ways if that is the case, as he is clearly being more responsive to his environment... Either way it translates to a better quality of life. But I think it sounds like his vision is coming back. Keep us posted!

I'm so sorry to hear about what Pico and your family are going through. Touch and cuddling has been very important for my blind Gaudi since, besides sound, that's what he relies on. Touch is what keeps him happy. He also likes music and whistling and still dances the way that he used to when he could see. It sounds like things might be more complicated with Pico though. I wish Pico quick recovery.

No news. She took a bit of blood and we'll have the results in a couple of days.
