After his first week at home Digby had only made what I call his "angry sound" but we've just been sat in the lounge watching telly and all of a sudden he's come out with about 10 different sounds I've never heard before! Including laughing and the clicking noise I do to him! He must have been practising while I've been at work, talk about shocked!! Happy though!

A breakthrough! It sounds like he is gaining confidence, a very good sign.

He's also found his treat bowl and is munching a grape. Before today he had only ventured to the normal food bowl and back to his perch. Massive steps forward this weekend!

That didn't take long. Looks like Digby is settling nicely into his new home.

Way to go, Digby! Soon you'll be taking your human slaves as granted - who knows, maybe you'll eventually treating them with contempt (like our Bonnie does)...joking! :DWell done, Jo.

So it seems that a pattern is emerging. Yet again Digby hasn't said much all week and has chosen to wait until Saturday evening to suddenly start going "hello" "hello" "hello". I couldn't believe it!!

This morning Bonnie said "give us a kiss" - you could have knocked me over with a feather! She hasn't said that before. She sometimes sits in her cage and practises sounds (when she doesn't realise we're listening from another room). Lots of the time she sounds like a robot or a goblin, but then I think she's experimenting with sounds & then an understandable word or phrase will emerge. It's very exciting when they say something new!
