I probably can't post the pic, but Dani probably can. I had a container of food open on the dryer while cleaning and refilling dishes tonight and Freddie crawled INTO the container to get some.

I've often heard of "pheasant under glass," but this is the first I've ever seen "'Tiel in a jar."

He's a clown. As soon as I set it down, he started dancing around on top of it and when it's full, he's been known to settle in for a serious munch from the rim, but I didn't figure he'd climb IN to get some. It's not like his dish, and Johnny's dish, and Benjy's dish, and the treat cup don't all have the very same stuff in them. LOL And what's really funny is, he seems to think the pellets in Clyde's dish are a huge treat and he'll steal them whenever he can, but he won't touch those same pellets if they're in his own dish. They all much prefer to steal from other people's dishes. So everybody eats everything, including Maggie's dove mix. They're all perfectly healthy, so it seems to work out.

Can he even eat in that position?

No, he stuck his tail straight up to do the eating part and then turned around and sort of jumped up and grabbed the rim with his beak to scramble out. Didn't seem to have any trouble at all, though I was standing by just in case, trying to figure out how to help him get out without one of us (ME) getting hurt. LOL I figured maybe I could lay it on its side and let him walk out. But Freddie gets what Freddie wants by any means necessary.

There's no accounting for greed (& the associated skills they teach a bird).

A fellow can never be really sure where his next meal is coming from. That photo gives new meaning to the phrase "eat like a bird".

If people ate like birds, we'd all weigh 400 pounds. I never saw anybody eat like my tiny bald canary. That little girl can pack it away. I give her a fresh millet spray and the next day most of it's gone. Plus she eats her regular food. I have to refill her dish every other day or so.

How is Trixie going?

She's just fine. I ordered her a flat perch which should be here tomorrow or the next day, since her little feet don't behave right. She has trouble hanging on when she wants to preen or sleep. She eats like a piggy and sings when she feels like it, usually in the morning. She had a molt and her head feathers didn't grow back, so the baldness is permanent but I think it's cute. Makes her unique. She still won't come out and has no interest in sitting on a finger, but she has a nice big cage and plenty of toys and if she's happy, that's all that matters.

She does sound happy and safe. Dont worry about the baldness - Shah has a bald neck - he is going through moult at the moment and no feathers are showing up there. But, as you say, it makes them unique. Doesnt change who they are and how we feel about them. Thanks for taking on this little bundle of joy. She is one very lucky canary. But then I can say that about each and every animal (and fish) in your care.
