She's just fine. I ordered her a flat perch which should be here tomorrow or the next day, since her little feet don't behave right. She has trouble hanging on when she wants to preen or sleep. She eats like a piggy and sings when she feels like it, usually in the morning. She had a molt and her head feathers didn't grow back, so the baldness is permanent but I think it's cute. Makes her unique. She still won't come out and has no interest in sitting on a finger, but she has a nice big cage and plenty of toys and if she's happy, that's all that matters. What variety of flat perch did you order and where from? I've tried a couple different ones... Sqwatters is the brand that Cupcake really loves but I've had a number of issues trying to order additional perches from them. I also got some flagstone perches from bird on the rocks but Cupcake isn't nearly as fond of them. I think maybe they are cold on her feet and she doesn't like that.

She went to sleep on her perch last night while I was trying to convince Ringo to go to bed -- always an ordeal -- and it was so cute the way she was softly snoring, but then she lost her balance. That woke her up, so she landed upright, but she was kind of shaken. I sure hope that flat perch arrives today.

She's very lucky she found her way into your household. Even if someone else had bought her, I'll bet most people wouldn't have recognized her special needs. Ahhh, the critical eye of a reporter!

Or a Crazy Bird Lady. LOL I wish she'd just sleep in her Happy Hut or her nest, but she won't. She sleeps next to the Happy Hut -- she usually ends up on the floor of her cage and I've found her there sound asleep with her head tucked into her wing -- but won't go into it. I've tried that nest in every spot in that cage and while she will sit in it occasionally, she clearly doesn't consider it a potential bed.

I found it at Windy City Parrot. It's a wood perch that looks sort of like a miniature log, rounded on one side and flat on the other, meant for handicapped birds. She isn't quite handicapped, but she isn't quite what special ed teachers call "typical" either. Her little feet just don't lock around a perch like they should.
