The little birds are completely oblivious. They poop in their food, their water, on each other -- yes, even Clyde has appeared with a poopy on his tail feathers from someone who was sitting above him. Ringo Starling also poops on everything, even on my Bee Gees poster, in spite of my pleading to spare the Gibbs, at least. Rocky used to insist on being taken back to his cage for poops, but either he's really relaxed with us now, or the little birds have been beating the jungle drums with some kind of code, because he has started pooping wherever he happens to be, too. This puzzles the dogs, who know they have to go outdoors first. But they're also puzzled about why Rocky gets to eat off my plate and they don't.

Having never been much of a BeeGees fan myself, I'm with Rocky on that one. I don't know what it was - too wholesome? Too toothsome? I was definitely not into wholesome back then.

The poster is on the closet door, which is closed unless I'm putting away laundry or getting dressed, so Ringo doesn't have much opportunity to poop on Robin and Maurice (she never poops on Barry), but when she does poop on them, I have to be very careful removing it. It's an original 1978 poster and I can't replace it, so I don't want to peel off the picture or rip it. I have asked her to show more respect to the dead, but respect and starlings don't go together at all.

Okay, how in the world did I miss this thread? For one, Scooter is beautiful (and smart)!! Two, I have a Roomba, and love it! The birds are terrified of it, though. Poor Taz shrieks and falls off his perch every time it comes near his cage. Chewy knows that Taz is Top Bird, and reacts to his fear. Third, I can understand why Scooter's previous owner wanted to visit, but hopefully she won't come back for awhile. Poor Scooter! Fourth, we have linoleum in the pet room, and it makes cleaning much easier. Finally, WELL DONE!!! :-D

Someone once said that it's better to come late to the party than not to show up at all. Welcome aboard, Dani! Scooter thanks you for the compliments. She is a smart parrot-- and she'll look even prettier when her molt is finished. She and Ralph both look like living pincushions right now, with their molts going full force. Scooter's former owner hasn't been back to visit, which is probably for the best. Scooter is slowly becoming more at home here and has adapted to our routine, which is quite different from what it was in her former home.
