Just a quick hello My name is Jacob, I currently have a Bearded dragon (Logan) & an African pygmy hedgehog (Reggie). On Thursday we have the latest addition joining the family, Chuck. Chuck is an 8 year old Blue Quaker. I will post my questions in the suitable sections of the forums, so look out for those. Cannot wait to get chatting to you all and continue learning about these beautiful birds!!

Welcome to the forum, Jacob and Chuck! We love talking about Quakers here, and you'll find lots of experience and an eagerness to help as you learn. We don't all agree on everything all of the time, but we do try to be agreeable, and no question is dumb or too small. I look forward to reading more about Chuck.

Thank you Not having had a parrot before I will be worrying a lot and asking a bunch of questions! Most likely bore all you to death with pictures and stories of what he gets up to. It is really exciting, I see they can be a bit of a handful at times too. We are adopting him, so a little worried about how the re-homing will affect him. Hopefully it will not stress him too much!

Believe me, there's no such thing as too many pictures or stories here.

I am a little worried about the age of Chuck. He is 8 years old so already has his own little way of life, guess it will take a long time to get him settled here once he arrives.

Welcome to the forum Jacob and Chuck! Looking forward to hearing lots about Chuck settling in. Just let him take things at his own pace, and try not to react if he startles you or tries to nip. We had a little hedgehog that we rescued, she was an albino and really neat to have around.

Happy to have you and Chuck join us on the Forum! Don't worry about asking too many questions-- everyone here is happy to share whatever knowledge and experience they have. Chances are good that someone here will have answers for you. Parrots are remarkably adaptable, but they do need time to adjust to new people and surroundings. It may take a bit longer for an older, rehomed parrot to adjust, but Chuck may settle in quickly.

Hi Jacob, Skye is only 4 months old approximately. The guy I purchased him from said he thought they (there were 8 of them for sale at the one time) were about 13 or 14 weeks old when I picked him up. So I'm guessing he was hatched around the 10th October. I've had him 5 weeks today

Hi Jacob and Chuck, we never get bored with photos and stories. Ask any questions you want - everyone on this forum will help you. And, as Easttex says, sometimes we don't agree with each other, but we respect everyone's opinion. Plus it is good to hear different opinions.

Even have hedgehog salt & pepper pots! ahaha
