Oscar can talk a lot but he will only do it if he thinks we are not listening. Some times he just needs to be ignored and out comes the words.

Recently Bonnie is behaving like Oscar - we have to stay quiet in other rooms of the house, then she will eventually start 'practising' her words, but if we're in the same room she often won't say anything (except for "hello" to our feet if she's out of the cage).

Yoshi just turned 5 months old, and he's been talking for about a month. He generally only does it when there's background noise (music or TV), and even then it's only when he's in the mood. But when he is in the mood, he can be a little chatterbox for 1-2 hours solid. He mumbles a lot of random things, and says a few phrases. "Uh-oh!", "don't give up" (I have no idea where he picked that one up at), "i love you", "good boy", "are you a duck quack quack", but his most common thing to say is "what are you doing". He will ask me what I'm doing all the time, not just during one of his mumbling sessions. I almost think he has an understanding of what it means, because he often uses it at the appropriate times - if I get near his cage, or start making silly noises at him. It's hilarious when he's on top of his cage playing, I'll come close and he waddles over to the edge nearest to me and says "what are you doing".
And of course he will usually say "quack quack" when I ask him if he is a duck.

Haha... Yoshi is such a cutie. Cupcake does make noises like she's trying to talk when she's in the shower. I think that background noise makes her more comfortable. But she never progresses past the same kind of warbly mumblings. No actual words.
