Hopefully she's okay! I'm sure she was just stunned last night, Taz always acts a little strange after his freak outs. Let us know when you can, though.

Most of the comets are sick when they get to the stores. They're "throwaway" fish, meant to be fed to other animals. Some can do well, but most don't live very long. The ones that do survive grow to about 3 feet long (they live a long time if they're healthy). They're related to Koi.

He's in his "testy" stage now, though, and this part of having a baby bird (or any Parrotlet) is not fun. Most of the time he doesn't bite *too* hard, but man, can he give a good (sorry to use your word, Siobhan) CHOMP sometimes! Ouch!

LOL Thank you, biteybird! He's really smart, and Chewy talks all day so Pico mimics him. He can also do all of Taz's sounds and whistles. LOL

Oh, wow. First off, ((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))). Second, ((((((((((((MORE HUGS))))))))))))) Third....PLEASE don't blame yourself. You had no way of knowing that this would happen. I am so very sorry for your loss. I know what it feels like to lose a beloved member of your family, and it is so incredibly painful. Know that in time the pain will decrease. It really will. When our Arnie bird died, my husband and I were completely torn apart emotionally. We had other birds at that point, but HE was our first. He developed a tumor, and there wasn't really anything the vet could do, so we kept him happy and comfortable for as long as we could. After awhile we couldn't ignore the fact that he was extremely sick, and took him to the vet. The stress of that vet visit was too much for him, and he died that night. I still feel guilty about taking him to the vet, but I was trying to be a good mom, doing what I thought my baby needed. That's exactly what you did. The difference is that you didn't get to say goodbye, and I am so sorry about that. Try to remember the good times you shared together. Think of the times when Yoshi was acting so rotten that you wanted to "sell her to the Gypsies" as they say, but then wormed her way back into your good graces by doing something completely adorable. I know that with our Chewy, we have quite a few of those times. Finally, take care of yourself. Give yourself time to grieve, and don't listen to people who might say "Get over it, it was just a bird." I'm sure that Yoshi knew how much she was loved, and I'm sure that she loved you. Take care, and know that you have a huge support system right here. We'll be here if you need to cry or scream or whatever.

Well, I'm bummed. The Orientation was cancelled, so we won't be able to go until Spring. Oh well.
