Thank you so much, Jan. A few hours ago I almost managed to get to sleep, when I had a vision of him teaching me to Jitterbug. I was wide awake, then, and cried and cried into Diablo's fur. Awful. By the way, Diablo is my cat.  |

Thanks, Angela. On the 19th it will be exactly 25 years since he had the first Grand Mal seizure and his brain tumor was discovered. There have been many ups and downs in that time, but really his life was relatively normal. He's amazing. There have been times when I haven't been around the forum much, but with all of the turmoil lately, reading your posts has been therapeutic. So thank you for that. |

I just want to thank all of you for distracting me a little bit over the last few weeks.
My dad has really declined fast and is now on his death bed. I've spent a lot of time with him and my mom lately.

You can buy some wood and plastic beads, and bells, and make a "bird bracelet/necklace" for her to play with, instead of your arm/facial hair. See if that helps distract her. |

I actually witnessed that kind of bite a long time ago.
I used to go to an avian supply store almost every day, and one day a customer brought her lovebird with her. She wanted to see the baby birds in the back of the store, but couldn't take her bird back there. So she assured the store owner that he was nice and asked him to hold it.
That bird nailed him, and would not let go. I'm cracking up as I'm writing this, because the mental picture is hilarious! He ran to the bathroom and stuck his hand, bird and all, under the faucet. The bird let go immediately, and the owner was so mad at him for getting her bird wet! LOL

For future reference, a couple drops of milk takes the burn from chili peppers right out. Yes, I know from experience. I gave Taz a dried chili and forgot to wash my hands. Big mistake. I rubbed my eye, and.....you get the picture. Luckily, Zach and I were going to visit my mom and we told her what happened. She got the milk out and the pain was gone almost immediately. |

S/he really is beautiful (you're right about the mutation), and I also love the name Cookie! Congratulations! Edit: I was trying to think what kind of cookie she reminds me of....a Russian Tea Cookie! One of my favorites! |

Yes, that's Zach in the video. They decided to be talkative, for some reason. LOL. Taz has never responded to Chewy like that when he calls him! That was hilarious! And the Chewy's whistle was new. Zach and I had heard it before, but couldn't tell who it was. Now we know! |

Ricky, I'm sorry that I'm so late here! I came to this section to check out another thread and am completely shocked to see this. I'm so sorry for your loss. On the other hand, it really does sound like your new baby is quite in tune with you. That's wonderful! A-hem......there's also a "General Pet Bird Discussion" section, and we would absolutely love pictures and updates, and stories, and questions..... When you are ready.  Again, I'm so sad to read about Sonic. Take good care of yourself, and grieve however you need to. (((HUGS))) |
