Today we went in the bedroom and he was relaxed enough to snuggle, and after we covered him for the night, he decided to come back out for a while, opened his own door and stayed up late to be sociable.

He is doing so well. Thank goodness you didn't listen to me and kept him. He is a little treasure.

We had some rough adjustment, but he has settled in a lot. He still has some work to do and so do we, but I think we're gonna be OK.

These are very special animals where you learn a lot from them. You persevered with him and you will have a very strong bond with him because you listened to him. On the other hand, he is very lucky to have found a home that gave him the space and time to trust again.

I just wish he would love his daddy, too. He'll let my husband pet him and he'll take treats from him, but as Bill says, I'm the sun and he's the moon. When I come in the room, Bill vanishes and Rocky wants only me, and if Bill walks by or speaks to him, the crest goes up and daddy is warned not to approach.

Can Bill get him out when you are not home? Sounds like you are the one for Rocky and he wont tolerate any competition - doesn't matter what the species is!!!!!!! You have done amazingly well with Rocky - I take my hat off to you

He's made huge strides in the last couple of weeks. He rode on my shoulder and he sat at the table and ate my breakfast for me one day. He's talking a lot more, though we don't understand most of what he says. We got a different couch and he didn't panic when we moved the old one out and the new (old) one in. He walked all over the new one and examined it. He went to the bathroom with me (because he wouldn't step down and I had to go, LOL). He's becoming more and more a normal parrot doing normal parrot things and we don't have to be so alert for fear triggers as we did.
