Hi there! My husband and I are looking to purchase our first Quaker baby and we have narrowed our search to a couple of breeders that seem great. I was wondering which age of Quaker to look at- we have an option for a 2 month old and an 8 month old. Does that age difference affect how well the bird will bond with its humans? Which would be a better choice? Thank you all for your time and advice!

Welcome! It's certainly possible to establish a strong bond with a parrot of either age, or even older than 8 months. My main consideration would be to assure that any baby parrot I chose was fully weaned and eating independently, simply because I wouldn't want to have to go through the delicate process of hand feeding and weaning. If you haven't already done so, I'd arrange to meet both parrots you're considering. You may discover a preference for one or the other-- or one of them may choose you.

I wouldn't worry about the age in terms of bonding. I got my Quaker at 21 years old, and we have built very a close bond. I think it is more how they are raised initially.
