Shah went to his 2 monthly vet checkup on Saturday. The vet was very happy with him as he was calm and showed no stress when he had blood taken. The results show that Shah is improving - there has been a dramatic improvement with his protein levels. The bad news is that the stomach results aren't as good as they should be which means he has permanent damage (I really am beating myself up over this). However, all his results are going in the right direction and he is almost "normal" - he goes back in 2 months for another check up. He is hormonal at the moment so a bit bitey and screamy but that's okay - I know my lovely little boy will return shortly.

That is really great news, Jan. Just remember how far he's come, and what you did to get him there. I'm trying to take my own advice with Peppy, and all his recent health issues, but I too wish I had picked up on things sooner. I have to cancel Peppy's checkup this morning. We are having a water heater crisis, as in it leaked and flooded it's area, so I have to get a new one installed. The weather is pretty bad, so I am not too sorry to delay the trip.

Hi guys, thanks for your kind words but I cant stop thinking that he is in this mess because of me. I had 3 years to take him to the "million dollar vet" but was too stingy. However, I can only go from here and am doing my best for him now. He really is a cheeky little devil. He says Monkey Breath so often now that I am starting to believe it is my name I realised last night that with the money I have spent on the birds, I could have bought a small horse float for Izzie! Looks like I will be working until I drop dead

Don't get me started thinking what all the vet bills could have bought!

Lol Jan... "monkey breath so often now that I am starting to believe it is my name". I think that Shah believes it is your name. I think I would rather hear that than.... Maaaaaa Maaaaaa (at the top of his screeching voice).

Julianna, I would happily change names with you. At least you have a name that isn't insulting Shah is just so rude and he knows it!

I have to admit, Piggy does rival Monkey Breath for rudeness
