Hi Everyone, I've began fostering a 11 year old Quaker with some pretty serious issues. I decided this was the path for me after loosing my beloved Charlie (Parrotlet) almost 5 months ago. Anyway, I've decided to blog about my journey and would love your attention and hopefully feedback. Please follow if you have the time. Rescuing Kosmo: rescuingkosmo.wordpress.com/ He is very different from my last bird, so I hope to utilize this forum as much as possible. Cheers!

Welcome to the forum. Yes these birds are very different. They can be as sweet as a kitten or mean like a lion. I hope whatever serious issues you have with your new quaker that it works out.
Your blog is very nice and I only read a part of it... but I will read more tomorrow.
Cheers

Welcome to you and Kosmo! It's wonderful that you are rescuing this little guy. Everyone here would be happy to help, so please ask any and all questions you might have. I have enjoyed your blog so far! Your writing is quite good. Quakers can be quite a handful at times, but they are truly wonderful and fascinating little creatures. Incredibly smart and full of love and personality. You're in for a treat. Good luck and please keep us posted on how things go!

Welcome to you and Kosmo! Each parrot is indeed an individual, with a unique personality. Parrots of the same type will share some common characteristics, but every parrot has some special traits that set him or her apart. One of the joys of being around parrots.
