I got back from camp yesterday (no injuries or dramas, phew!). Everyone had a good time. There was no phone reception there, but they had their own WiFi hotspot - got an email from hubby saying Monday night went well and when he let Bonnie out of the cage she was quite good. Tuesday was a different story. She squawked so loudly in the morning he had to leave early for work. And she was the same after he got home from work. He went to let her out of the cage but she tried to bite him straight away. He had to go out that night, so she didn't get any out of cage time. On Wednesday afternoon, after I arrived home from camp, she was so noisy that hubby had to retreat to the garage to stay sane…I didn't want to let her out when she was this noisy, in case it reinforced the noisy behaviour. So we are back to her coming out of the cage, after she's been quiet, into a different room to hubby. Sigh...

Unfortunately, they are such creatures of habit that any change in the routine really upsets them. In a couple of weeks I will be doing a horse training course for 4 days - I will be coming home each night but not sure at what time as it is being held a couple of hours' drive away. The thought of what will greet me when I walk through the door is something I am not looking forward to as I know Shah will be seriously upset by the change in routine. Your poor hubby

insert code here Thanks Jan, at least I know we are not the only ones with this problem. Good luck with your horse training - I think it would be great! I hope Shah is not TOO insufferable upon your return at the end of each day.

Glad to hear that things went at least relatively well while you were gone! Sounds like there might have been a little bit of progress there.
I often wonder if Cupcake is going to suddenly go postal on us because our routine changes so much. She is remarkably tolerant of the fact that she might end up in the cage at any moment on any day because we need to leave. It's never clear who she'll be with or how long... every day is different. She puts up with it... and I hope it stays that way. Every once in a while she will object to having to be caged, but a few screams and a couple flights around the room seems to get it out of her system and then she will willingly step up to go in the cage.

I am happy to hear all went well at camp... I can only imagine the noise your little one made upon your return. I think it is a sign of true love. lol..... Too bad hubby didn't have enough time to spend with Bonnie... it may have been a bonding time... (or not).
Good luck on your training days Jan... hopefully Shah will understand and adjust.
