I have two 9month old Quakers male & female. have had them since they were 12 weeks old......I want some help or reassurance....
There diet:
Living world premium cocktail seed mix mixed with Special Bird fruits & veg
daily they also have have
Raw fruits and veg: berries, mango pineapple aplles perars grapes and water melon Brocolli, beans, peas, lambs lettuce
Treats:
Berry mixtire and veg mixture mixed together with nuts, rice & sesame mix, nutriberries.
Millet Cuttlefish
Due to the coming months some of these fresh items will become harder to get or cost more.....am wondering if there might be a dry alternative that wont be detrimental to there health or growth.
I wash down the bars of the cage cos they wipe there beaks over them with Poop off.....and clean there dropping tray and perches daily, but there are still some fruit flies I have to contend with.
So any advice would be appreciated cos I love my noisy little babies....

Check into Harrison's High Potency Pellets or Mash. My QP Chuckie has done very well on those with added treats of fresh fruit (small amounts due to sugar levels) and green leafy vegetables (salt and sugar free canned, frozen, or fresh). I only leave his treats/fresh offerings for him for a couple of hours. No fruit fly problem. Avoid any bird food that has sunflower seeds (high fat, low nutrition, may contain harmful bird psychedelic -literature not clear to me on this issue). Thanks for giving them a loving home . What are their names??

Sounds good to me. Be sure the fruits are peeled because many of them will have sprays still attached. That would be my only suggestion.
Cute names.

Hi britlamia, your reply made me laugh...just this afternoon I was trying to record a voicemail message for my new phone. Do you think I could get even a 10-second message done without a bird shriek in the background? Nope!

lol biteybird... what is with these birds? Seems every time I am talking to anyone else... out comes the shrieking... whether in phone or in person... I think they just always want to be the center of our attention... period!
