Shah went to the vet today - it has been a month since he has been. The vet did another xray and checked him out and says he is one healthy bird. His appearance and personality have changed so much that I cant believe it. The vet also pointed out a couple more things to do with his feathers that I hadn't noticed. It has been well worth the money to get him where he is today and he is a lot more contented - although is still demanding and bossy and continues to call me Monkey Breath constantly. He continues on a special diet for another 2 months and then will be assessed again. I am sitting in the sun with him, Pippin and Spike at the present time so they can get their Vitamin D. Pippin has to go back in 2 weeks time as his poos don't look quite right to me.

That is wonderful news for Shah. I know that Oscar's poop does change a lot depending on what he has eaten. It really frightened me once when it was orangey reddish.... then I realized he just ate a big carrot and had strawberry for dessert... whewww. If the poop is constantly wrong then definitely I would take him to a vet.

Shah... is still demanding and bossy Well, of course he is. He's still a Quaker parrot. Glad that he got a good report and is doing well. Hope all will be well with Pippin too.

Great to hear that Shah has been given a clean bill of health! That is really great news. If he wasn't demanding and bossy, we'd probably have to wonder if something was wrong with him

That is wonderful to read of Shah's clean bill of health. I hope you never actually thought you'd wind up at the top of the peck order. You don't really come across as naive.

Yeah Easttex, silly me for even entertaining the thought I thought that now he was feeling better he would be Mr Lovey Dovey. I still get bitten on occasions and I do bleed - but these are times when he feels I am annoying him. I haven't figured out what I do to annoy him yet, but am working on it. And he has become an absolute nightmare with his hot food morning and night - he screams the place down if I don't get it for him straightaway. But I do hear "gotta kiss" a lot more these days. We have lots more snuggles as well which I really enjoy as it has been a long time since I have been able to do that with him.

I've been missing a few threads recently - this was one of them. That's great news about Shah. You'd probably miss being called 'Monkey Breath' continually if he weren't around.
