I kinda dropped out for awhile, have been really busy with work. Kritter is doing very well, loves his new cage ( got a budgie flight cage), and has adapted well to our family. Still not talking much, and still Will not eat pellets. Got some ZuPreem today, hoping he will eat that.
I am enjoying him so much..never knew a bird could have so much personality! He is quite a bird.

Glad to hear things are going so well with Kritter! They are really quite amazing little creatures. I too am consistently amazed at the depth of Cupcake's personality. So much fun.

Yeah, I have often wondered what I did B.P. (Before parrots.) Life was duller.

Hello to you and Kritter. I may have suggested this before-- try soaking some pellets in spring water or unsweetened fruit juice to soften them. Offer the soaked pellets to Kritter and he may decide to try them. This often works with parrots reluctant to eat dry pellets. Ralph still expects a daily serving or two of the softened pellets; I think he likes them better that way than dry.

Thanks Gary, I tried that (soaking the pellets), and it is working. He will eat it out of a little white dish, then shove the dish around on the bottom of the cage. Am giving him a dry mix of crunched pellets(ZuPreem), Avi-cake, and only 1/4 the amount of seeds I used to give him. So when should I try switching him to Harrisons pellets? That seems to be the "gold standard".

Glad that the soaked pellets were a success! You can try introducing the Harrison's pellets whenever you want. Kritter may refuse to eat them at first, so you may have to keep trying. If he won't eat them, you can stay with the ones he will eat, and try again later.

I find to encourage eating... pretend you are eating it first. Say things like "yummy"... and then try to share with him. It may help.
