In my next book, I'm going to have the main character keeping several birds. One will be a raven and another a quaker. Both birds will be rescues. In my novels, I try really hard to keep the situations possible, as well as adding a little education about birds as well. So I didn't know if the different types of birds would get along.
Any info would be great!!

It's hard to say, because it depends so much on the individual birds' personalities. Each bird should have its own cage, but Siobhan has pretty much an indoor aviary with two quakers, two cockatiels, a budgie, a pigeon, and I may be missing one or two...LOL
I've personally had a quaker, a budgie and a cockatiel hanging out outside their cages (but not interacting with each other), and the quaker, cockatiel and a parrotlet (again, not interacting with each other).
Good luck!

Shah would kill the cockatiels if he could get to them so he pretty much hangs out with me.

I have 2 budgies and 2 cockatiels besides Skye, my Quaker. They hang out together. One of my budgies, Cloud, is Skye's best friend. They preen each other, feed each other and play. It's amazing!

Ralph is an "only parrot," but I know of people on this and some other parrot forums who have a Quaker and another type of parrot. One of those people has a Quaker and a Timneh grey who aren't the best of friends and don't interact; they get separate out-of-cage time. Someone else has a QP and a Green-cheeked Conure who just tolerate each other and stay in or on their respective cages. Another person has an Amazon and a Quaker, each of whom pretends that the other parrot doesn't exist.

Cupcake is an "only parrot" as well, but she does interact with my parents' cockatiel when she goes over there to visit (she is actually still there right now because we have been on vacation... I am picking her up later today). Mostly she just chases their 'tiel around because he is moderately afraid of her. She just wants to be friends, from what I can tell, but he is very skittish. So it typically turns into a chase

Rachael, it looks as though Fig's household bird arrangement is the most promising so far, although it's possible that Skye may a 'milder' form of quaker personality.
