In all the angst and adjustment with Rocky, I have not reported the amazing Jade news. She is demanding attention. She is giving me kisses. She preens my hair. She lets me touch her head sometimes. This morning she tried to preen my eyebrows, like Clyde is so fond of doing. She didn't quite know the technique and bonked her beak into my glasses instead, but it's a start. LOL
She's been extra cage aggressive for a few weeks and I thought we'd lost some ground, but then she started doing all this. I still have to watch it when cleaning her cage and I don't know what that's all about, since I thought we'd already resolved that long ago. I pull up a stool and sit by her cage and she comes out on her front porch and we have nice visits. Clyde usually insists on sitting on my shoulder and griping while it's going on. Benjy buzzes around us like a mosquito and wants in on things, too. So I can't concentrate on Jade as much as I'd like. Still, we're going through another of her periodic spells of progression, and once we make some inroads, they usually stick. Preening my hair used to mean she grabbed a beak full and just yanked as hard as she could. Now she's actually preening it. In between, she gives me kisses.
