My 10 week old Quaker had blood done today for DNA testing. How old can it be to put ID band on? Is it already too old?

As far as I know, they put the bands on really early. Not sure if you can get one on the bird now. Can you check with a breeder? I had Shah's removed (he had one on each leg). I was worried he would pick at them even though they looked quite attractive  |

The closed bands have to go on when they are quite young, so that they grow into them. You could have an open band put on, or you can use a microchip. I'm not sure how easy it is to get a bird to accept a band placed when they are older, but they are used all the time on wild birds.
