My 10 week old Quaker had blood done today for DNA testing. How old can it be to put ID band on? Is it already too old?

As far as I know, they put the bands on really early. Not sure if you can get one on the bird now. Can you check with a breeder? I had Shah's removed (he had one on each leg). I was worried he would pick at them even though they looked quite attractive

The closed bands have to go on when they are quite young, so that they grow into them. You could have an open band put on, or you can use a microchip. I'm not sure how easy it is to get a bird to accept a band placed when they are older, but they are used all the time on wild birds.
