I went to Petsmart for my weekly stock up, and they were out of the cockatiel sized Zupreem fruity pellets that Clyde and Jade usually eat. They had plain ones, but I know they won't eat those. They did have the fruity pellets in the next size up, the one for African greys and such. So I got that to at least hold them until next weekend. I hope they'll eat them. Except for the size, which isn't THAT much bigger, they're the exact same thing.

The formula is indeed the same for both sizes of ZuPreem Fruit Blend pellets. If the flock objects to the larger sized ones, they can be broken up into smaller pieces (I've had to do that myself when somebirdie refused to eat the bigger pellets).

I tried those for Casey once, she was intrigued with the purple grape ones, and I saved those for treats but like Gary the others ended up being chopped up :)I even rolling pinned some for the budgies

I put some in Johnny's dish (Clyde and Jade steal from that dish) with his food to see how the tiels feel about them. Clyde and Jade both had enough to get them through yesterday. Johnny and Freddie steal from Clyde's dish and so does Maggie, but these are entirely too big for Maggie. Pigeons swallow their food whole. So I'll have to break them up for her. The tiels bite pellets in half to eat them already, so they can just bite these into three or four pieces. Greta, like the Quakers, holds food in her foot to bite off pieces. Jade will probably eat the bigger ones but Clyde is picky.
