So back in 2013 a ferret escaped from the pet store I volunteered at and never returned. Searched for her for several months and then decided to accept she was more than likely dead. To make a long story short. Unfortunately that didn't work as planned. Since then I had a saved search on craigslist that notifies me whenever someone posts something that has "ferret" in it. Found this yesterday. chicago.craigslist.org/nwi/pet/5093025952.htmlTalked to the owner, she is Marshalls, same coloring, same yellowish tint, same chipped tooth, same eating habits, same thin hair, same weight loss, owner thinks she's blind (Rosie's deaf)....and came to the current owner from a lady who got her from a "difficult situation." First are Rosie, last 3 are "Pogo" ?? They seem so similar but its a lot to hope for. I'd so much love to go see if it is Rosie, but the parents...well, ferrets are nasty smelly creatures that get into everything and she's 2.5 hours away. Please someone adopt them, fee is 125... I just don't have the time and money right now but if someone can take them in for a while I know of a fosterer that might be able to help me out. She needs help soon since if it's her she has adrenal disease, and someone's interested in her if someone here or on the ferret forum can't get her soon. Her bedding is newspaper right now since they ran out of bedding, and don't have any money for more..... I can tell you her care if you have room but not experienced with ferrets.

Cute little critters. I don't know how much of a Chicago-area audience you can reach on this board, but I hope you find someone to help.

If someone's interested, that's great! Maybe you can get in touch with that person and work something out?

Well, someone being interested in her would be great...except you never know who replies to a craigslist ad. I admit it's mostly just me being selfish though. I love her to pieces and it was such a hard time when she was lost. When I first got to her in the pet store she just had pine pellets for bedding and it took me a good 3 hours to get all the peed on, wet, decaying pellets and maggot infestation out of her cage. Not including setting her up with a towel and the first toys she must've had since she was there and retraining her to use the litter box and feeding her by hand every day trying to get more than 2 tablespoons of the food mix I made into her and giving her medications for her ear infection and taking her out for exercise on her little leash and trying to raise money for her treatment since the store was pretty much waiting for her to drop dead and a lot of the time they forgot to feed her and I was to one who had to come in every day to make sure she was doing okay and hope some of her hair was growing back in until the owner offered her to me but I wasn't allowed to take her home for the weekend to take her to the vet and so when I went on vacation I guess she got upset since there was probably no one that paid any attention since I hadn't just taken her home because.... oops. Sorry. *End rant.* I'll shut up now

She's very cute... They certainly seem like the same ferret! Unfortunately I am nowhere near Chicago and have no business adding additional creatures to my household I hope someone can help!

Yes haha. I've been thinking ferret for a few years now so I might finally get my chance so excited The rats, meanwhile, are busy charming their way into pets I've been let into a fecebook rat group so maybe some pet breeding in the extended future??? I've decided 6 rats, 2 ferrets and 1 snake is a full house. The snake is being a lazy plop. He has a 90 gallon tank but only moves every week or so. lol.

Wow, that is a very full house. Ferrets are cool, but I don't know if I could deal with that smell in our apartment That is a lazy snake!

Congratulations on the ferret! I agree, Aaron, there's nothing like documentation to prove to the parents that you're serious. Wish I'd thought of that so many years ago when I wanted a horse.

Yeah, in retrospect, I could have used this technique much more effectively in my youth as well

Unfortunately it doesn't work too well when the quaker you tell your mom to hold and "see how sweet he is" bites her lol. Quakers...
