I'm not really sure how to go about cleaning off dry crusty poop and etc from toys and perches since they are all made of different materials. For example, I have one of those thick braided rope perches that many have.. it's clothy (?) so how would I clean something like that? Then there are toys made of stuff like loofah sponges, twine, corn cobs (i think), and etc as well as natural wood perches with bark on them... I have no idea what to do with those!
I'm also not sure what cleaning solutions are safe to use for my bird's things. What are some products or things that clean well but are also safe for pets?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

The bird companion's second best friend - Poop-off. I buy it by the gallon. It's bird safe and has no solvents. Not sure why it dissolves bird poop, but it does. I try to stay away from any other of the commercial stuff around my birds, especially when I don't know where the scent comes from. I use vinegar and water, though I let the smell dissipate before exposing my birds. I also have a steam cleaner I use periodically to really clean the cages. You want to steer clear of anything with bleach or a strong odor. Because of the way they breathe, they retain things in their lungs longer than we do, so things that might be harmless to us can be hazardous for them. www.amazon.com/Poop-Off-Bird-Remover-Sprayer-32-Ounce/dp/B0002G7ZQE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1435362455&sr=8-1&keywords=Poop-off
