Hello, everyone,
I just purchased my first Quaker Parrot, and I think I'm in love. For the past two days, I was a little hesitant (so was she!) and we didn't interact too much. I mostly just sat outside the cage and talked a lot, and I think she's finally gotten used to me. We worked on Step-Ups this morning, which she didn't seem to enjoy, but she loves playing. She instantly singled out her favorite toy (she loves leather to chew on and pulling the clapper of small bells) so I'm looking into getting more of a similar type. She likes it when I hold the end of the toy and move it around for her to chew on.
She's 14 weeks old, and is just starting to eat crunchy pellets (she prefers them softened with warm water). She eats by herself, but she also really enjoys being handfed, so in the mornings I feed her that way, and in the evenings I'll give her bits of food by hand, with the rest of it in her dish.
Also, I say "she" as a guess - the breeder thinks she's a she, but admitted that it could be either. Her name's Lihn.
Thanks for letting me gush, can't wait to meet you all, Tuesday

Welcome to Quaker Slavery! And do stick with the bells. They all seem to love them.

Thanks for the welcome, guys. Things are still going really well, though I'm starting to wonder who's training who...
