Last night, I lost my little buddy. I came home, he greeted my just like normal, and I fixed supper. While putting the dishes away, I noticed he was sitting oddly on top of his cage, in his nest. I picked him and up, and he was breathing hard. I took him outside to go to the emergency vet. We never made it out of the car. He began making a squeak noise as well, and passed a few moments later, sitting in my hands.

I'm very sorry about Edward - poor little guy. At least he was with you when he passed away, so would have felt more comfortable than in strange surroundings. That must have been a big shock for you.

I'm so sorry. At least he knew he was loved and cared for right to the end. Try to take some comfort in that.
