OMG - imagine all those people talking about their parrots and showing photographs of them. However, it is a very interesting concept.

This does sound like a very well-organized cruise! I have actually never been on one. It does sound pretty fun.

I misunderstood your post until I clicked on the link - I thought it was a cruise offered for people to take their OWN parrots WITH them on holiday! Now, wouldn't that be something?

Biteybird, it wouldn't be much of a holiday if we had to take our own birds. Shah would be even worse as he wouldn't cope with the change.

I"m pretty sure Mr P would prefer to stay at home, so it wouldnt be much of a cruise for me. Also, the practical side of me just shudders at all those strange diseases that he might accidently catch being around a ton of other birds
We are seriously considering trying to save up for this next year. It's a little too late for this year. Also, the prices go up the closer to the cruise, apparently, as we checked out their website and the posted prices were not the same as what the travel agent organizing this sent me. Hers were higher by a lot.

Cruises look like a lot of fun.... Except for being out on a boat with all those other people. And it makes me think of strange viruses, fires, getting stranded with overflowing toilets and no a/c. I'm getting curmudgeonly and will just stay home with my birds.

I actually swore off cruises, I've been on 3 or 4 and I swore the last one I was on was going to be THE LAST, and it has been so far. Never got sick or had any bad experiences, they are just boring. I don't like being on the ship, learning to make towel animals and cooking demos are not my thing. The best part about this cruise it is looks like they are sponsoring parrot related workshops on the days you are at sea, which I'd enjoy. This is MUCH BETTER than enduring one of those mindless classes they offer to the general public. Although I've been to the ports, I've never been on the excursions to a wildlife park or a parrot sanctuary. Overall, I would endure the cruise part to hear the workshops and go on the excursions.

I agree, the workshops are appealing for sure, so are the excursions. Being stuck on a boat with that many people is less appealing... but there is a lot about it that sounds cool!
