Mister attitude missed his afternoon feeding because he decided play time was more important. I have to give his afternoon feeding at 3:30 on days when I have dialysis, and he refused to step up until he ran himself out of time. On one hand I feel horrible for havng to leave him hungry until I get home at 9:30 , but on the other hand I bet he will be more cooperative next time.

Can't you leave pellets available for him all the time? That's what I do for mine.

Oh, he has pellets, water, and millet, absolutely! But he can't really crack the pellets yet, he just kind of "gums" them, lol.

I know you can soften dog biscuits if you soak them in water. Can you do the same with pellets?

I know you can soften dog biscuits if you soak them in water. Can you do the same with pellets? Yes! It works very well. Soaking the pellets to soften them often helps introduce pellets to young parrots not ready to chew the dry ones (like Darwin), or older ones who were reluctant to eat pellets. I still have to soak some every day for Ralph, who considers them a special treat. The pellets can be soaked in water or unsweetened fruit juice.

Gordon soaks everything, including his pellets. He soaks the plastic pieces that I give him for his construction projects, too. Huh. ~Sandee~
