I haven't seen Peppy do that, but Allie does something similar. Instead of chewing on it, she kind of slowly massages both cheeks. It looks for all the world like she's pondering life's mysteries and thinking deep, deep thoughts.

It looks like it's a left foot thing with Cupcake and Bonnie.

Yeah it is almost always the left foot for Cupcake. Although she does alternate briefly sometimes. But she prefers the left.

I tried to take a photo of her doing it today - holding her in my left palm, on her back (her favourite position, the hussy!), but she somehow knew and just wasn't having it. She looked at me as if to say "Am I a performing monkey? You won't get a photo, you crazy human!" |

None of our birds like to lay on their back. Pico is starting to get used to it, I think, but doesn't like to. |

Cupcake almost doesn't seem to want to be rubbed unless she is in that sort of position. She'll accept rubs while on her feet but she does this thing where she walks over and puts one foot out to try to get you to pick her up and let her rest her back on your palm like the photo. Definitely much preferred |
