So I have a friend that has a large aviary. Idk how many parrots she has for sure. I know she has 2 jenday conures, two quakers, and 2 African greys. She told me today she thought the one of the quakers and one of the jendays had mated. She said, the quaker was sitting on eggs and the jenday was feeding the quaker. Is that possible? If so, what would the offspring look like? What would they be called? I'm not sure I'm posting this in the right section. Sorry guys. Thanks in advance.

It's highly unlikely. Conures and quakers are very different genetically. They might mate, but producing offspring is another matter. Different conures can be cross-bred, and cockatiels with cockatoos. It's the sort of thing much better left to experts, though. Commonly there are lots of health issues with cross-breeds.

Wow, cockatoos and cockatiels can cross-breed? I guess that makes sense to some degree but I would never have thought that. Quite an interesting looking outcome-- crazy:

Wow, thanks for the pic. Like easttex said, the genetics were my concerns. Would be kind of interesting to see who's responsible for the eggs in the nest. I hope they're fertile.

My guess would be the Jenday and Quaker bonded and it inspired the quaker to lay eggs, but I would bet they arent fertile.
Heck, hens lay eggs for no other reason than they have too much food, too much daylight or are withing reach of a nesting box!

Haha that is a real picture! No doctoring at all! There are many others like it... Just search google for cockatiel cockatoo hybrid and look at the image search results.

If that photo is photoshopped, someone else did it! But I am pretty certain it is not.
