He just didn't seem right yesterday and this morning. Went right back to sleep after I uncovered him in the morning, didn't want to come out of his night cage, quiet, etc. No more piles of saliva, but he didn't seem well. Of course, this afternoon he perked right up and looked the vision of health at the vet's. We got him another round of antibiotics. Bactrim this time. I hope this will do it.

Ralph and I send Peppy some get-well wishes. Ralph says that going to the vet is no fun, so Peppy should stay well so he won't have to go back there anytime soon.

Peppy thanks you all for the good wishes. He did not enjoy the trip at all, although he was spared the crop swab. He was chipper on the way there, but tried to sleep all the way home. Poor little guy. He did get the satisfaction of giving me an excellent chomp on my finger when I got him out of his cage for his medicine. Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Quaker.

When you say he slept all the way home... how far is that for you? Did he sleep cause he was probably more comfy with mom? Best wishes and I hope all works well.

It's just under an hour each way. No, I think he slept because he was so stressed there. I feel kind of exhausted after an invasive medical procedure myself, and I even know what's coming.
