Shah hates his travel cage so, when we are almost home, I let him out and he sits on my shoulder, runs down my arm and then onto the steering wheel which makes turning corners quite dangerous. We sing songs together - well, he screeches his one tone. He also loves to sit on my shoulder and scream right into my ear as he is so excited. Oh gosh Biteybird, remember the old shaggin'wagons. Can actually visualise Benjy and Clyde putting on their pole dancing routines in the back.

Ralph grudgingly tolerates riding in the car (which is black ), but doesn't enjoy it. He holds on tight to the bars of his transport cage and grumbles a lot. George the YCA loved to take car rides, and would chatter and sing the whole time. This is Cupcake as well, most of the time. She puts up with it, but she doesn't like it. We've had some brief moments of her seemingly enjoying car rides but it never lasts. Once we're in the car for 10 minutes, it's all grumping from there.

Obviously she doesn't like your driving. You need to adapt your car and install miniature parrot controls.

I don't think Peppy is wild about going for rides. As far as I know, his only experiences with them have been arriving at the vet's or being handed off to yet another temporary home, so he might be okay with it if I took him somewhere just for the fun of it. But my guess is that he's had enough traveling, and is now content to stay at home, as I am.

Obviously she doesn't like your driving. You need to adapt your car and install miniature parrot controls. A parrot driving a car would be utterly terrifying. Haha

If anyone has ever read the Nero Wolfe detective novels by Rex Stout, you may remember that Wolfe hated riding in a car. He would hold on for dear life and grumble all the way. That's Ralph.

I read my first Nero Wolfe just a few years ago and was immediately hooked. Yes, Wole grumbles mightily when anything forces him outside his brownstone.
