Today has been a very special day... for me anyway. I was busy for 5 hours today painting my large bathroom and Oscar stayed in the kitchen. Because I was not giving him my full attention he decided to talk... and talk.... and talk... non stop talking for 3 hours out of the 5.... wow... I have not heard that many words in? I don't remember how long.
He was showing off and giving me all his new words... "It isn't ready yet"... lol.... what? what? what?.... I will be right back.... bye bye... and then all his usual ones like... Oscar.... Raymond.... mommie... maaaameeee... mamamamama.... what are you doing? (of course his wonderful sneezes).... ahhhh choooo... ahhhhh chooo..... over and over. He even did a few dog barks... ha ha ha....
and what a good boy... he never once cried wolf for attention. Twice I brought him to show him what I was doing.... and he looked very interested but was happy to go back to his perch. I think mostly because my paint tray was bright orange... lol.
I was just thrilled to hear all his words.... it has been too long. And yes... I know... if I want to hear him more often... all I have to do is ignore him.... but who can ignore a gorgeous little face like his? lol

Ralph wouldn't have liked that at all. Since the bathroom is one of the places he likes to play, I could never paint it bright orange (not that the apartment management would allow that anyway). Oscar was quite the chatterbox today. Good job, Oscar!

Gary... I did not paint the bathroom orange... ewwww... the paint tray is orange plastic...l Well, everyone has his/her own taste in colors. One of my neighbors has a bright orange car. Ralph wouldn't care much for the roller tray either, but it is much better than painting the walls orange.

Careful there Gary - I used to drive a bright orange car. I could never lose it in parking lots - it stood out from the rest of the cars

The bright orange would be a good fit around here in Syracuse University country-- where the official color is orange. Much to Ralph's disgust, of course. He does not like that neighbor's orange car when he sees it drive by.

The car I have now is white - much more acceptable to quakers But easier to lose in a parking lot.

Speaking of cars are your birds good to go for rides in the car? Oscar doesn't mind except if an orange school bus comes beside us lol.... If I am driving he will sit on my shoulder and then eventually travel down to sit on my arm. If someone else is driving he just likes to sit on my finger facing the window... he seems to enjoy it.

Ralph grudgingly tolerates riding in the car (which is black ), but doesn't enjoy it. He holds on tight to the bars of his transport cage and grumbles a lot. George the YCA loved to take car rides, and would chatter and sing the whole time.

I could never lose it in parking lots - it stood out from the rest of the cars My mother-in-law used to have a bright yellow "Shaggin' Wagon" (panel van). Maybe Siobhan could buy one and put Clyde and Benjy's cages in there, along with little parrot dancing poles...

Speaking of cars are your birds good to go for rides in the car? Bonnie likes being out of her cage in the car. She even sits on the steering wheel (but it doesn't have a fabric/wool cover on it, so she slips whenever we turn a corner . Her favourite thing is to sit on hubby's shoulder or the sheepskin seat cover - at the top - or go into the footwell and screech joyously. We don't like her going in the footwell, though, in case she gets under the pedals.
