I was wondering if parrots can have chamomile tea and how long to leave the tea bag in the hot water and how much can they have? Can they have a little every day? Anybody try this or know?

I have never offered it myself, but I know a lot of people do. You can brew it as you would for yourself and then dilute it with 3 - 4 times the water. I always give my birds filtered water for drinking and bathing because we have too much chlorine sometimes. Plain water should be their primary drink, but I wouldn't think a little chamomile every day would hurt. I have a bird snack that includes dried chamo flowers and both my birds enjoy eating it.

Personally I have only heard of using the tea for calming the bird.

I would only use it if the bird is having emotional problems. I use it for Shah as he is a mutilator - but only when he is having an episode. I wouldnt use it long term. I brew it like I would for myself. Then I add a whole heap of filtered water to cool it down and weaken it. They might not drink it if it is too strong. I alternate between the tea and Rescue Rememdy (the no alcohol one) when he is mutilating.
