Trixie took the rearranging of her perches down low with pretty good grace, but it was obvious she'd like at least one perch up higher, so I bought her a new perch, a natural wood perch that was bigger than her other wood perches but not as big as the rope perches. She's hardly been off of it since. So I moved her flat platform up high again, too, but left everything else down low. She's using the low perches, too, and went to bed on her favorite T shaped perch, but she's spending most of her time on the new one during the day. And she took a nap on the platform this evening. I want her to be safe, but I also want her to be happy.

Sounds like you have given her a few choices and she has made her decision. She may be more comfortable on the wooden perch during the day. Good job Siobhan

I know it's been said before, but what a lucky break for Trixie when you showed up, Siobhan!

I think the Lord put her in my path. I had lost Greta a couple of weeks before and I was missing her dreadfully (and still do), and mind you, I go to Petsmart every single week for something. I always stop and say hello to the birds there. I had never seen her that I can recall. Yet there she was that particular Saturday with a clearance tag on her cage. I needed her and she needed me. Ringo even accepted her almost instantly and Ringo is the very personification (birdification? LOL) of jealous. Yet she's fine with me talking to Trixie and paying attention to her and usually goes and finds something to do until I'm done and can give her my full attention. Or she'll sit on my lap and talk to herself while I talk to Trixie.
