This showed up on my tablet as something suggested for me to look at based on my interests. It is interesting and I thought it was worth sharing on the Forum: Monk Parakeets at the Kyiv Zoo

That looks really great! I wonder where in US zoos there are groups of monk parakeets?
I noticed that they have heating for the winter because that would be a challenging environment for monk parakeets.

Kyiv is a difficult environment for lots of reasons. The Quaker parrots have an impressive place to live and seem to be doing well there.
I don't know of any zoos in the U.S. that have Quaker parrots, but I suppose there might be some. The zoo in Syracuse has several parrots, but I don't think they have any Quakers. When Ralph misbehaves I sometimes facetiously threaten to donate him to the zoo, but of course that isn't going to happen. When I have a few minutes to spare, I'll see if I can fiind any nformation on QPs at U.S. zoos.

I've done a little Google searching and haven't found any information on zoos in the U.S. that have Quaker parrots. I did run across a statement that said that QPs are often found in zoos around Europe though. No specific information on which European zoos.
