We've had lots of discussions about our parrots' vocabularies and how talkative they are (or aren't), but not as much about the funny sounds they imitate. There are two that Ralph does that come to mind right away. This afternoon I was chopping some celery and there seemed to be an echo in the room. I stopped chopping but the sound continued. Of course, that was Ralph. Probably Ralph's favorite funny sound-- sounds, really-- are the creaky cupboard doors in the kitchen. There are three doors that squeak and creak, each slightly different from the others. Ralph can imitate all three. Most times when I take him into the kitchen, I have to open and close the three doors so he can do his imitations. Do your parrots like to imitate funny noises too?

Lol yes. Casey also imitates a noisy cupboard door, he can sneeze and cough if he hears that happen. I’ve also heard him sort of bark like our dog.

Lucy used to imitate many many sounds VERY well. Some were strange things I’d have never noticed until she mimicked them. Like the utensil-setting-down noise: kind of a clunk and boing sound.
She made me a bit self conscious because she was so intent on what I was doing. When she first came home with me, she did her zipper noise as I was getting dressed and I was so surprised !
Willow doesn’t make as many but does a very good dripping water noise.

Pippin doesn't make many noises, apart from his water song, but he has started making the noise of the clicker I use when we're training, which is very confusing!

Bonnie does the zip noise too, whenever my husband picks up his backpack. I also noticed that when I am putting clothes away - which Bonnie enjoys 'supervising' - she was making a funny noise. Then I eventually realized it was the sound of the coat hangers sliding along the rail when I was moving them to put clothes on/off them. Too clever by far!
