If anyone ever calls any of us parrot people a "birdbrain," we'd probably consider it a compliment, knowing as we do how intelligent out parrots are. I think most of our parrots understand a lot of the words we say; even if they don't repeat those words, they know what we're talking about. A favorite treat of my two parrots is popcorn, and if I say that word, they're both ready and waiting to get some. If I say the word "chicken," Ralph will start doing his imitation chicken cluck. Scooter the CAG likes to imitate things that go beep and boop, and she sounds exactly like them. I keep my cordless phone and the remote control for the air conditioner on the same table. Each of them has a distinctive beep, quite unlike the other. They don't look alike either; the phone is black, the remote control is white. Scooter knows which beep to imitate, depending on which of them I pick up. Birdbrains indeed!

Goodness, yes! LOL We order pizza a lot, and Chewy knows when the delivery person comes, it's snack time! If we sit down to eat without giving him his bite of crust, oh boy, he lets us know! 🤣
The other birds aren't as demanding, but they all like their "pizza". 😄

Ralph, Scooter and Chewy all sound like they are Very tuned into everything going on. Casey keeps an eye on things around here too like Chewy if he sees me in the kitchen with the toaster he says good morning, want some. He also tells my dog when to wake up and back out of window if he sees someone outside. I have noticed if it too quiet and he wants attention and some excitement he cries wolf just to get her barking. They are definitely smarter then most people think
