It might be interesting to see how different our parrots' tastes in food are. What foods do your parrots like best?
Ralph's absolute favorite food is fresh green peas (sugar snap peas). Fortunately, they're almost always available at local grocery stores. Other things he likes are garbanzo beans (chick peas), quinoa and lima beans.
Scooter the CAG would eat nothing but scrambled eggs if I gave her the chance. Of course, that's not a good idea so she doesn't get them too often. Like Ralph, she likes garbanzo beans and quinoa and cooked pasta is another favorite.
Parrots definitely have their own ideas about what they like. Casey always leaves the peas even though I keep trying. He loves the seeds inside peppers, broccoli, and corn He also likes rice, pasta and recently quinoa. He loves all sorts of fruit but only gets tiny bits as too much fruit isn’t good. Strawberries might be his favourite fruit. First he picks off the seeds to eat then he makes a mess of eating some of the berry He asks for a raw pumpkin seed each morning I have a jar of those by the cage and a jar of infant rice crackers ( just rice nothing added) every night at dinner he gets a tiny birdie portion of dinner on a plate on top of his cage. Chicken and salmon are his two favourite proteins.
