What do you eat with a knife and fork that you can't just eat with your hands, really? Although Mr. Etiquette might find that shocking. Peppy wouldn't think twice, but Ralph has more refined sensibilities.

As I've said before, Bonnie is 'wonderfully unencumbered' by manners or etiquette of any kind, but I agree that we've all come to expect a little better from Ralph. Gary, apologies, you must endure 'with fortitude', these comments about Ralph-the-refined for the short-term, at least.
Edit: easttex, do you think holding an entire steak or chicken kiev in your claw would be easy? Seriously!

Of course you're right, biteybird. It's might be fine for Gary to eat like a barbarian, but he needs that knife and fork to prepare Ralph's repast. (Sorry, Gary. I'll quit now. )

Alfred introduced himself on a recent episode of Batman thus: "I am Alfred. I buttle for Mr. Bruce Wayne at stately Wayne Manor." Clearly this is something Ralph needs to learn to say. "I am Ralph. I buttle for Gary at stately Spoon Manor. No, we only use spoons. All the best families do, you know."

Indubitably. No wonder Ralph is always checking the silverware drawer. You just can't get good help these days. LOL

I think Gary actually buttles for Ralph You got that right! Ralph wasn't especially interested in setting the table, but he did pull all the spoons out of the drawer again, and put them on top of the cabinet:

Were they all there? You know he's counting them, don't you? "Hmmm, I wonder what that Gary is up to when I'm not looking ... "

Were they all there? You know he's counting them, don't you? "Hmmm, I wonder what that Gary is up to when I'm not looking ... " There was not a single spoon left in the drawer when Ralph was finished moving them to the top of the cabinet. He is very thorough. I even raided the box of rarely-used kitchen utensils in my storage locker to find a couple extra spoons to add to his collection. Ralph's Gotcha Day is coming up soon. Instead of shopping for him at the pet stores, I'm going to the restaurant supply store. I'm sure to find things there that he'll like. Rather than waiting until I need to run the dishwasher, I've been hand-washing the spoons, to make sure Ralph has enough to work with, and so I won't have to stir my coffee with my finger.

You buttle very well, Gary! Ralph has obviously graduated from the run-of-the-mill pet toys and needs adult equivalents. Have you ever thought of taking him to a beach and training him to use a little parrot-sized metal detector? What fun...and you'd find heaps of spare spoons.
