Bonnie does this too. She gnaws her toes and foot while I'm scratching her head (usually I'm holding her with her back in the palm of my hand, with her feet clinging onto my thumb and I rub her head and neck with my other hand). She also likes to chew on the silver leg ring she has on her left leg. I agree, it's cute!

The pose I love the most is when he takes his right foot... reaches around the back of his neck... all the way to the front and scratches his left eye... lol... I often wonder why doesn't he just scratch his left eye with his left foot? I got to post that picture too.

Cupcake prefers her head rubs to occur when she is in that position... maybe because she wants to be able to use her feet. It's super cute. I had wondered if this was a common thing or not...

When I have an itch I scratch it with my dominant hand, which is not necessarily the closest to the itch! Incidentally, I've read that most parrots are left-footed - apparently they hold their food in their left foot. Anyone heard about this?

I've read that they will prefer to use the dominant foot in the initial step up, but hadn't seen that about how they hold food. I don't think it is cut and dried with the step up, though. It can depend on which hand you offer. I can't tell with Peppy because he leaps rather than steps. Allie CAG has nails on only one foot, and I think that influences her use. I'm going to watch how both of them hold their almond this morning.

Oscar doesn't use his left foot to hold his food... so I guess he is right handed just like his mom. It is also his right foot that he gives to shake a paw with.... never his left.

OK, Bonnie holds her food with her left foot and she also puts up her left foot first to step up. Interesting!
